Donald Scott Alleman, 57 of the 2100 block of Arcona Road in Mechanicsburg was driving along East Winding Hill Road near Orchard Boulevard when the road rage incident began, as detailed in the police release.
The incident continued to the intersection of Gettysburg Pike and Cumberland Parkway – during which, "the driver of the pickup truck struck the bicyclist,"as stated in the release.
A witness to the incident captured the scene on their dashcam and shared it with the police around 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 23.
Shortly afterward, the police determined that Alleman was the driver and filed the following charges against him, according to the police and confirmed by court documents:
- Felony Criminal Attempt – Aggravated Assault by Vehicle.
- Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
- Misdemeanor Terroristic Threats.
- Summary Harassment.
- Summary Reckless Driving.
- Summary Failure to Stop at Red Signal.
- Summary Following Too Closely.
- Summary Disregard Traffic Lane.
Alleman turned himself over to the police on Friday, June 28, 2024.
His preliminary arraignment was held before Judge Elizabeth S. Beckley at 2:50 p.m that day, according to his court docket. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail and his preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 5.
